For the love of pie! Pie and mash a big hit
Love and the smell of pie were in the air last night at the Urban Larder on Mill Road in Cambridge for the first Pavitt’s Pies and Mash event. We were delighted to have a full house and very clean plates at the end of the meal. There was a great atmosphere throughout the evening with everyone chatting away.
Guests had booked in advance and chosen which Pavitt’s pie they wanted to eat. The pies were accompanied by champ mashed potatoes, peas and an onion gravy. Also included in the price of the meal our diners received a glass of sparkling wine and nibbles on arrival. After the pies came a delicious lemon and poppyseed cake that had been made by The Afternoon Tease company, followed by coffee. By all accounts everyone had a wonderful evening with comments such as “truly delicious pies”.
Our next pie and mash night will be on Thursday 8 March, again at the Urban Larder. This time we will be celebrating the joy of pie in honour of National Pie Week. There are only a few tables left for this event so please call Polly on (01223) 212462 or email info@urbanlarder.co.uk to reserve a table and choose your pie.
