We all love a good pie and a good pun!

We are quickly discovering that the number of pie puns out there is limitless.

Last week we innocently asked the question to followers of Pavitt’s Pies “Do you have any suggestions for good films to watch while eating pie and mash?”

The sensible answers came in on Twitter along the lines of ‘Sweeny Todd’, “M.A.S.H” and ‘Pi’ meanwhile on Facebook the pun gates had been opened.

The top 6 (based on Facebook ‘likes’) were:

1) “Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Pie”

2) “Shallow Gravy”

3) “The Pie who Loved me”

4) “The Passion of the Crust”

5) “Pie Hard” and sequels

6) “Withnail and Pie”

Dean Ashton (pictured), from Cambridge, won the vote and was the very grateful recipient of a pile of Pavitt’s Pies in return for his efforts.
